A Visit to A
Historical Place
Travelling
is always an ample (plenty) source of joy and education. A visit to a
historical place is not an exception to it. Our country is a land of beautiful
monuments and memorials. Last winter my parents and I, along with other
families, went to Amritsar, Punjab to see the Golden Temple there. We travelled
by train. It was a four-days’ outing. It is one of the most important
historical places in India. We became spell-bound to see the architectures of
this temple. The guide informed us that the construction of this temple started
in December 1581 and ended in 1589. The Golden Temple is also known as Sri
Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib. The area is vast. I was charmed with the
natural beauty of the surrounding area of the temple. We saw Akal Takht and Teza
Singh Samundri Hall, one of the entrance gates, the Clock Tower, Ber Trees,
Sikh History Museums, Guru Ram Das Langer and many other things. We put up in a
guest house there. The day when we left Amritsar, I became mournful to leave
the place. This historical visit of mine helped me to get more valuable
information.
2. Write a paragraph
on Travelling by Train.
Travelling by Train
The
dictionary tells that "Travelling" is the movement of people between
distant geographical locations. Travelling can be done by foot, bicycle,
automobile, train, boat, bus, airplane, ship or other means, with or without
luggage, and can be one way or wound trip. According to me, among these
travelling by train is the most comfortable journey. Trains are one of the best
transportations for commuting long distances. Low fare, punctuality of time and
ease of travel make the journey by train, both economical and comfortable.
Besides, there are several other advantages of travelling by train. You can
relax, stretch, move around or even take a nap; something which could hardly be
imagined while travelling in a car or bus. A journey on train also offers
exclusive view of the landscape and culture as the train passes through the
countryside. In journey across the state, one gets acquainted with the
traditional dresses of the people, agricultural crops and culture. One also
gets the taste of local cuisine as it is server by the vendors in the railway
stations and wagons. The journey is also entertaining as you can interact with
fellow passengers from different regions and linguistic backgrounds.

The word ‘cartoon’ means a
humorous or satirical drawing published in a newspaper or magazine. Again, the
cartoons are animated and we get fun to see them. My favourite cartoon
character is Chhota Bheem and this cartoon shows are shown on POGO Channel.
Bheem is one of the most famous cartoon characters among the children. He is an
extremely brave, strong and intelligent young boy. Bheem loves to eat ‘laddoos’
and when he eats laddoos, he gets a supreme power in his body and no enemy can
beat him then. He has a sympathetic mind and he often solves the problems of
the villagers of Dholakpur and other people. People of that village love him
very much. I like him because he never becomes dishonest and hurts anyone.

in about 70 words on ‘The Subject You Like Most’ using the following hints:
[Hints: your favourite subject ----- reason ----- time you give in
reading the subject ----- type of books you consult ------- persons who helped
to create interest]
The Subject I Like
Most
The word ‘subject’ is important
in every student’s life. We learn different subjects because through this
learning we gain knowledge and become educated in our lives. I like many
subjects in my studies. But Bengali is my most favourite subject. Bengali is
our mother tongue. I like it because I can understand this subject very well.
As a literature, I am fond of Bengali also. There is no perfect time in reading
this subject. Whenever I like, I read this subject with utmost attention. At
first, I read text book very sincerely. Then to increase my writing skill, I
read various kinds of story books, newspapers, magazines in Bengali. My Bengali

The Importance of
Excursion
The dictionary tells that the
word ‘excursion’ denotes a short journey or trip, especially one taken as a
leisure activity. Excursions should be organised in different educational
institutions for the benefits of the students’ education to a considerable
extent. Educational excursions are held to broaden the minds of the students.
They take part in an excursion to gain knowledge. Sometimes excursions make us
free from our boredom of daily life. Generally, we are accustomed to learn our
lessons inside the four walls of the classrooms. But an educational excursion
is a new device of learning our lessons with lots of fun and entertainment. In
an excursion we can mix with the common people of the locality where we go.
Besides, one can have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty to one’s
heart’s content. According to the experts, an educational institution should
organise an excursion once in a year. Now-a-days, any educational excursion is
not being held for the Covid situation. We always be optimistic as no education
will be completed without excursion.

[Hints: disturbance of ecological balance ------ man’s greed and
selfishness causing gradual extinction of wild life ------- deforestation, less
space for accommodation of wild life ----- urgent need for protection of wild
animals ----- conclusion]
Protection of Wild
Life
Wild Life is in danger today
throughout the whole world. People in general are totally indifferent to wild
animals. With the help of super-fast technology, we are developing our habitats
to an utmost level every now and then. Trees are cutting down at random. Woods
are gradually disappearing. These disturb the ecological balance to a great
extent. Man’s greed and selfishness cause gradual extinction of wild life. The
wild animals do not have appropriate space to live because of deforestation.
Besides, some poachers kill wild animals to satisfy their greed. This is a
deep-rooted social menace and it cannot be wiped out from our society very
quickly. But there is an urgent need for protection of wild animal. In our
country, there are some sanctuaries where the wild animals are safe. But these
are not up to the mark. Wild animals are a treasure to a particular country.
So, we can never harm them.

Forest
A ‘forest’ is a large area covered chiefly with trees
and undergrowth. Forests are very important and grow in many
places around the world. They are an ecosystem which includes many plants and
animals. Temperature and rainfall are the two most important things
for forests. Forests are important for animals and us. They give
us food to eat. They give us many fruits and vegetables. We get honey from
trees in forests. Big and small animals live in forests like lions, tigers and
wolves. Forests also give us medicines. They bring rain. They keep the
surroundings clean. We should save forests and stop cutting trees. Humans
are cutting trees for tables, chairs and huts. We should plant more trees. They
give us oxygen to breathe. No forests mean no greenery and no food. Forests are
our best friends. They are also best friends of animals. Without forests, it is
difficult to survive on earth. Activities of deforestation have reduced
forests. Global warming is the result of reduced forests. Harmful rays of the
sun – UV rays are easily passing through the ozone layer due to forest imbalance
that affects the environment. We should plant more and more trees and protect
forests. Save trees, save lives! Some world-famous forests are Spiny Forest,
Madagascar, Sikkim Pine Forests, India, the Amazon Rainforest, South America,
Green Mountain National Forest, Vermont, USA, Redwood National Park, USA,
Bellavista Cloud-forest, Ecuador etc.

Now-a-days
the plastic or polymer has been very important in our life. It is a very useful

our daily life are vast. It is used for packaging of food. It is also used for
films and sheets. Containers, wire and cable insulation, pipes, cables of
electronic parts, moulds etc. these all are from plastic. The plastic is also
used to produce household wares, medical instruments and carry bags. Even the
most important thing i.e. toys for the children are made from plastic. But we
have to careful about the uses of plastic. Plastic reacts with food and makes
it toxic. Plastic which wastes from the industries mixes into sea and river and
thus water is polluted. This is also dangerous for the aquatic animals. As a
non-biodegradable thing it reduces soil fertility. Plastic is harmful for the
animals as it is not cycled in the eco-system automatically. The gas from
burned plastic causes many diseases like asthma, cancer, skin-disease and the

Dengue
Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne
tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Mainly Aedes mosquitos are
responsible for this disease. High fever, headache, vomiting, muscle and joint
pains and a characteristic skin rash are the primary symptoms of dengue fever.
In this fever bleeding, low levels of blood platelets and blood plasma leakage
or dangerously low blood-pressure occur. The first ever recorded case of
probable dengue fever is mentioned in a Chinese Medical Encyclopaedia from the
Tin Dynasty (265 – 420 AD) which mentioned a “water poison” associated with
flying objects. It is also known as ‘breakbone fever’, a mosquito-borne
infection that can lead to a severe flu-like illness. There are currently no
vaccines for this disease. The best method of prevention is to avoid mosquito
bites. The person should drink clean water to prevent dehydration, painkillers
like ‘Tylenol’ or ‘Paracetamol’ should be taken to reduce high temperature.
Prevention is better than cure. We always try to keep it in our mind. As the
dengue virus is mostly active during daylight hours, particularly early morning
and late afternoon, special precautions should be taken these times of the day.
Tropical and sub-tropical areas are more prone to the disease. If we are
careful about ourselves, we can easily overcome this disease.

Pollution
The word ‘pollution’ means the presence in or
introduction into the environment of a substance which has harmful or poisonous

air is rising. Pollutions are of different types; such as, land pollution,
water pollution, air pollution and sound pollution. No matter which form of
infection it is, it has dangerous impact on our environment. All kinds of
pollution are a result of careless activities by man. We are totally
indifferent to our Nature. We are destroying our environment each and every day
by cutting down trees at random. We dump waste directly into water bodies which
causes water pollution. Now-a-days many vehicles are plying on the roads which
release poisonous smoke into the atmosphere and make it difficult to breathe.
Air is contaminated today. Soil pollution is caused by directly dumping our
waste into landfills. The sounds of different car-horns, loudspeakers during
some festivals and bursting crackers cause noise pollution. It damages our
eardrums and, in extreme cases, causes deafness. Pollution is a deep-rooted
social menace created by only human beings. One day, it will come to our lives
that the existence of human beings will be endangered due to excessive increase
of pollution.
